Dr. Terry Haskin
Dentist
Dr. Terry Haskin was born in the east Texas town of Gladewater. His dad worked for the Sinclair Oil Company and his family lived in Texas, Wyoming, and Mississippi as he was growing up. They eventually moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended Aurora High School. It was here that he developed his love of snow skiing. He skied Vail Resort on its opening day and still loves and enjoys the sport. Dr. Haskin attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and it was there he met his wife, Sue, who hailed from Minnesota. They married and moved to California where they both attended Loma Linda University- Sue in Dental Hygiene and Terry in Dentistry. Deciding on where to move after graduating from dental school took lots of research. They loved the Monterey Bay area and finalized on a new medical center being built in Watsonville. They were able to design their own office and moved with their young daughter, Christy, shortly after graduation. The first day they opened their doors it was just the two of them- Sue being dental assistant, dental hygienist & receptionist. Christy played in one of the uncompleted operatories after preschool. It did not take long before they hired their first employee and were on their way to becoming one of the busiest & most successful dental practices in Santa Cruz county. Over the years they have remodeled and expanded their office, but have maintained that close family feeling with patients and staff.
Dr. Haskin loves to snow ski, scuba dive and golf. Most of all he loves his family and especially loves being "Grampi" to his granddaughter Alexandra. As a patient you will be hearing of her latest exploits and seeing photos- so it would be a good idea to come prepared to share your own. Dr. Haskin is a very compassionate dentist and he and his staff find it especially rewarding to help turn fearful patients into happy, comfortable patients under their care.
Dr. Gordon Goldstine
Dr. Gordon Goldstine grew up in Gilroy and has been a patient of Dr. Haskin’s ever since he was a child. In his early 20s he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. After several years Gordon decided he would rather do music as a hobby rather than for a living and enrolled in college at California State University Northridge. While there he maintained a 3.98 GPA and earned 2 bachelor’s degrees in Cell & Molecular Biology and Biotechnology with a minor in chemistry. He also did research in several labs and was first author on a publication in Biocatalysis and Biotransformation. After graduating, Gordon moved back to the area and taught Biology and Health at San Benito High School in Hollister. He enjoyed teaching but wasn’t feeling totally fulfilled with the career. It was at this time that Dr. Haskin encouraged Gordon to look into becoming a dentist. Gordon started shadowing Dr. Haskin and fell in love with the fact that as a dentist you use a combination of art and science to help people. He enrolled at the UCSF School of Dentistry and graduated 4 years later with honors and with special training in the use of lasers in dentistry. He feels very fortunate to have been practicing alongside his mentor and childhood dentist since 2017. His ability to speak Spanish makes him uniquely suited to serve the diverse community of the central coast, and he looks forward to contributing to the community for many years to come. Dr. Goldstine recently became engaged to his long time sweetheart Dr. Sarah Scribner, DPT and they plan to wed in June. When he isn’t treating patients, you might find him playing bass guitar locally with one of his bands or hiking the Santa Cruz mountains.
